Audi
Audi came from a local shelter after his owners didn't want him anymore. He spent quite a while waiting for a family to adopt him, but nobody was interested so off to a PBRSD foster home he went!
To say that he is very smart is somewhat of an understatement. He learned "sit" the very first night with his foster mom and has proven that he's not above a little treat bribery -- this guy will do whatever it takes for a snack, which will make positive reinforcement training classes super fun for he and his new family. Audi also walks great on a leash, rides wonderfully in the car, and appears housetrained (he'll let you know when he's gotta go). We were all pleasantly suprised to find these things out about him, as he spent several weeks alone in a kennel and we never expected him to adjust to home life so quickly.
One of the reasons Audi was brought to the shelter was because he walks with a very minor limp, caused by what the vet believes was an old injury to his left hind leg that was never treated. It's not very noticeable, but after running and playing he'll favor it a little. Beyond this, he's happy and healthy and expected to live a normal life.
One more thing: Audi LOVES the water! He made short time of a kiddie pool filled to the brim, and loves jumping in and playing around. We may have a beach dog in the making here, so if you are looking to add an intelligent, friendly, water-loving furry friend to your family, Audi just may be your boy.
Adopting me will be a lifelong commitment, and my new family needs to be ready, willing and able to provide me not only with lots of love as an indoor member of the family, but also with ongoing training and socialization.

Please note that Pit Bull Rescue San Diego does not adopt on a first come first served basis. Generally we have formed an opinion about the sort of home that we want for each of the dogs in our program. This opinon is formed from knowing each dog and observing their interactions in various situations and through periodic evaluations. Our goal is to place our charges in the home that is the best possible for that particular dog. Our only goal is happiness and forever homes for our dogs. A forever home is most likely to happen when we do the best we can to find lifestyles and personalities that match.
We are aware that this is a human process and that you may or may not agree with our decisions. Please understand that we take very seriously the lives placed in our hands for this brief time and our decisions are only made out of protectiveness for the breed and the specific dogs we are placing and not out of any judgment of you or your life.
