Squeezle
Squeezle came from a local shelter after being found wandering loose on the streets. Surprisingly, her owners never came looking for her and her chances of adoption were not good because of her age. Her breed is up for speculation, but the general consensus is that she's a purebred mutt of the shepherd mix variety. How did she come to be taken under the wing of Pit Bull Rescue San Diego you ask? Well, we dare anyone to look into her great big brown eyes and be able to say that she doesn't deserve a second leash on life. We couldn't possibly say no to this wonderful girl who has so much life left to live.
Even though she's a senior, Squeezle does like to play a bit with her 5-year-old "little brother" Rocky. They don't play rough, just gently with each other. Most of the time they just relax and hang out. She hasn't met any kitties yet, so we're not sure how she feels about felines.
Squeezle is housetrained and has no problem with stairs. She's currently living in a second story condo and does just fine. She also knows how to sit and stay, and walks ok on leash. Oh, and don't forget car rdes! She loves hanging her head out the window while going for a cruise with you.
The ideal adoptive family for Squeezle would be a family that wants a calm, loving, sweet girl who enjoys being pet and relaxing around the house with her people. She's very easy going with other dogs, so a family that already has a dog or dogs wouldn't be a problem for her. She enjoys walks but she's not hyper and doesn't need a super active lifestyle -- just lots of love.
Sure, puppies are adorable, but older dogs are much easier! Squeezle is the definition of affectionate as well as beautiful in her own special way. She's past all the naughty puppy stuff: she's already potty trained and doesn't chew up anything. She's enthusiastic about life yet still very easy going and mellow, which is the perfect combination!
Adopting me will be a lifelong commitment, and my new family needs to be ready, willing and able to provide me not only with lots of love as an indoor member of the family, but also with ongoing training and socialization.

Please note that Pit Bull Rescue San Diego does not adopt on a first come first served basis. Generally we have formed an opinion about the sort of home that we want for each of the dogs in our program. This opinon is formed from knowing each dog and observing their interactions in various situations and through periodic evaluations. Our goal is to place our charges in the home that is the best possible for that particular dog. Our only goal is happiness and forever homes for our dogs. A forever home is most likely to happen when we do the best we can to find lifestyles and personalities that match.
We are aware that this is a human process and that you may or may not agree with our decisions. Please understand that we take very seriously the lives placed in our hands for this brief time and our decisions are only made out of protectiveness for the breed and the specific dogs we are placing and not out of any judgment of you or your life.
